Frequently asked questions
What is LVC SMS, and who sends the messages?
LVC SMS is Lakeview Construction's internal text-message notification system. Messages are sent by Lakeview Construction, LLC, a commercial construction company headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. All LVC messages originate from our toll-free number +1 (866) 368-2377. You can save that number to your contacts as "Lakeview Construction" so future messages are easy to identify.
We send messages across four channels — SuperSpeak (safety + jobsite info for supers), LVC Memo (office internal), LVC All-Hands (company-wide), and LVC Custom (ad-hoc internal sends). Full details on what each channel covers are on the SMS opt-in page.
How do I subscribe to LVC text messages?
Visit our standalone opt-in page at dashboard.lvconstruction.com/sms-opt-in.html. Fill out the form with your name and mobile number, read the disclosures, check the consent box, and click Subscribe. You'll receive a one-time confirmation text — reply YES to that text to complete your subscription.
Subscribing to LVC SMS is voluntary and is not a condition of employment, contractor engagement, or any other Lakeview Construction service.
How do I unsubscribe?
The fastest way: reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any LVC text message. Opt-out is honored within seconds and you'll receive a single confirmation text.
You can also visit our opt-out page to opt out of specific channels or all channels at once via a web form, or contact the IT administrator directly using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
I'm receiving messages but don't remember subscribing. What's happening?
LVC only sends SMS messages to people who have explicitly opted in via the SMS opt-in page. If you're receiving LVC messages and don't remember opting in, a few possibilities:
- Someone else (a supervisor, a coworker, or HR) may have submitted the opt-in form on your behalf at your request.
- You may have opted in at an earlier time and forgotten.
- The number that opted in may have previously belonged to someone else and was reassigned to you by your carrier.
- In rare cases, a transcription error during opt-in could result in your number being entered incorrectly.
Whatever the cause, you can stop the messages immediately by replying STOP to any LVC message, or by using our opt-out page. We honor every opt-out within seconds. If you'd like to investigate how your number ended up in our system, contact the IT administrator below — we can look up the consent record (timestamp, IP, and source of the opt-in) to help clarify.
I changed my phone number. What do I do?
Two steps. First, opt your old number out (so the next person who receives that number doesn't receive LVC messages) — either reply STOP from your old number if it's still active, or use our opt-out page and enter the old number. Second, opt in your new number using our opt-in page.
If you don't have access to your old number anymore, contact the IT administrator below and we'll remove the old number from our active distribution lists.
How often will I receive messages, and what do they cost?
You will receive up to approximately 10 messages per month, varying by your role and the channels you are subscribed to. SuperSpeak recipients typically see 1-2 per week. LVC Memo recipients typically see 1-3 per month. LVC All-Hands fires only as needed (typically 1-2 per quarter).
Message and data rates may apply from your wireless carrier. Lakeview Construction does not charge you to receive these messages. Any charges come solely from your carrier under the plan you have with them.
Are the links in LVC text messages safe to click?
Yes. Every LVC text message includes a link to a branded one-page view on dashboard.lvconstruction.com — our official domain. The link is unique to you (it includes a one-time engagement token) and routes through our authentication system to show you the message content, attachments, and any response prompts.
If a text claims to be from LVC but the link does not start with https://dashboard.lvconstruction.com, do not click it. Report any suspected impersonation directly to Tony Bohn at tony@lvconstruction.com or 262.857.3336.
I subscribed but never received the confirmation text. What now?
Wait 5 minutes — sometimes carrier delivery is delayed. If after 5 minutes you still don't see a text from +1 (866) 368-2377:
- Check your phone's spam or "Filtered" message folder.
- Verify the phone number you entered on the opt-in form was correct.
- Some carrier accounts have third-party blocking enabled that filters automated SMS — contact your carrier and ask them to allow short-code or toll-free traffic.
- If none of the above resolves it, contact the IT administrator below and we'll investigate.
You will not be enrolled until you reply YES to the confirmation text, so if the confirmation never arrives, you won't receive future messages either. Your opt-in submission is held in a pending state for 30 days before being discarded.
I subscribed and replied YES, but I'm still not getting messages. What now?
After replying YES, you should be on the active list for the channel(s) appropriate to your role. If you're not receiving messages within a typical send window for your channel:
- Check whether your role qualifies for the channel you expected — see the channel descriptions on the opt-in page.
- Check whether any LVC messages are in your phone's spam folder.
- Check whether you may have inadvertently replied STOP at some point — replying STOP from a particular channel opts you out of that channel only.
If none of the above explains it, contact the IT administrator below with your phone number and we'll check the consent log to see your subscription status.
What happens to my phone number after I opt out?
When you opt out (via keyword, web page, or direct contact), your phone number is immediately added to our suppression list for the channel(s) you opted out of. Future sends to those channels skip your number entirely. The opt-out record itself is retained indefinitely — required by carrier regulations — so that even if the same number is added by someone else later, the suppression remains in place until you affirmatively re-opt-in.
Your other personal information (name, email if provided) remains in our personnel records as governed by your employment or contractor relationship, but those records are not used to send you SMS messages. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data retention.
Can I see the messages I've received in the past?
Yes. Tap the link in any recent LVC message to open the recipient web view, then tap "View past messages" or visit dashboard.lvconstruction.com/distro from a device that has previously clicked an LVC link. You'll see a list of messages sent to you in the past, with full content and attachments.
Access to past messages is tied to your engagement history — only messages sent to your phone number are visible to you.
I no longer work at LVC. Do I need to do anything?
If you've ended your employment or contractor relationship with Lakeview Construction, we recommend opting out of SMS notifications using our opt-out page or by replying STOP to any LVC message. Once HR processes your departure, your name will also be removed from active distribution lists, but the explicit opt-out ensures no further messages reach you in the interim.
